Sekhon, Gradient

Gradient is Sekhon's most frequently performed work. Scored for alto saxophone + piano, this work explores and fuses the spectrum of timbres offered by the two instruments. Both performers employ a variety of extended techniques in order to manipulate their individual sounds in a way that blurs the boundary between the instruments.
